Planting Bareroot Trees
TIP
Soak roots in water for 2 hours prior to planting.
Step 1
Dig hole 2″ wider than the root ends on all sides.
Step 2
Set tree in hole. The root collar should be visible above ground once the tree is planted.
Step 3
Moisten soil & backfill to just below the root collar.
Step 4
Build a water holding berm outside the root ball.
Step 5
Give it LOTS of water!
TIP
Make sure the roots aren’t crushed into the bottom of the hole when you start to backfill.
